On September 29, 2023, I participated in a Strategic Roundtable Discussion hosted by the Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Sandeep Arya, alongside a select panel of industry leaders. The focus was clear: accelerating the cooperation between India and Vietnam in the realms of Fintech and Emerging Technologies.

Promoting Global Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)

The core of our dialogue centered on the potential of India’s world-class technology stack—most notably the Unified Payments Interface (UPI)—and how its adoption or integration could revolutionize the Vietnamese digital economy.

At Acuitology, we analyze these “Digital Public Infrastructure” models to understand how they can be adapted for regional markets for mutual benefit. Our discussions covered:

  • UPI & Digital Payments: Exploring the technical and regulatory framework required to bring India’s seamless, real-time payment success to the Vietnam-India trade corridor.
  • Fintech Cooperation: Strengthening the ties between Indian tech providers and Vietnamese financial institutions to foster a more inclusive and efficient financial system.
  • Mutual Growth: Moving beyond theory to discuss the actual “IT Sector” cooperation needed to deploy scalable, high-trust solutions for both countries.

Reflections

The synergy between the foundational experience of India’s tech giants and the evolving digital landscape in Vietnam is a powerful catalyst for regional growth. By promoting proven technologies like UPI, we help bridge the gap between emerging market needs and world-class digital standards.

Engagement with diplomatic and industry leaders is essential for high-level mentorship and strategic knowledge exchange. Such dialogues ensure that we remain focused on creating a culture of excellence that can compete on the global stage, fostering partnerships that drive innovation across domestic and cross-border markets.

“The successful expansion of Digital Public Infrastructure like UPI depends on more than just the technical architecture; it requires a strategic alignment of policy, industry trust, and technical excellence to benefit both nations.”
